Spanish and Volunteer course

Since Nueva Lengua started operations we have received wonderful people who wanted not only to learn Spanish and know our country but also to help people in need.

In this  course students will take Spanish classes from 9 am to 12 pm (Monday-Friday) and will have three sessions of volunteer service during the afternoon. These sessions will be scheduled right after the student has visited the institution, in accordance to the program given and the respective coordinator. The student must send a C.V. specifying abilities, knowledge and interests (format will be given by Nueva Lengua). The program requires minimum 4 weeks, first one is induction.

1.    ENGLISH OR FOREIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES.

• INSTITUTION: ORPHAN AND ADOPTION CENTER. Located in Bogotá. 30 minutes from the school using public transportation.

• TARGET POPULATION:  Children (5-10  years old).

• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Spanish level: basic-intermediate. Fluent in native language.

• ABILITIES: Flexible attitude, adaptability, communication skills, team work.

• EXPERIENCE: Preferably working with children.

• MATERIALS: will be prvided by the institution.

• INSTITUTION: ORPHAN AND ADOPTION CENTER. Located in Bogotá. 30 minutes from the school using public transportation.

• TARGET POPULATION:  Children (5-10 years old).

• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Spanish level: basic-intermediate. In arts or sports.

• ABILITIES: Flexible attitude, adaptability, communication skills, team work.

• EXPERIENCE: Preferably working with children.

• MATERIALS: will be provided by the institution.

3.    ADMINISTRATIVE AND LOGISTICS ASSISTANCE.

• INSTITUTION: ORPHAN AND ADOPTION CENTER. Located in Bogotá. 30 minutes from the school using public transportation.

• AREA:  administrative.

• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Spanish level: basic-intermediate. Web design/ informatics tools.

• ABILITIES: Flexible attitude, adaptability, communication skills, team work.

• EXPERIENCE: Preferably administrative or commercial.

• MATERIALS: will be provided by the institution.

4.    ADMINISTRATIVE AND LOGISTICS ASSISTANCE.

• INSTITUTION: SPECIALIZED IN RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES (HOSPITALS AND SCHOOLS) located in Bogotá, 15 minutes from the School using public transportation.

• AREA:  administrative.

• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Spanish level: basic-intermediate. Web design / informatics tools.

• ABILITIES: Flexible attitude, adaptability, communication skills, team work.

• EXPERIENCE: Preferably administrative or commercial.

• MATERIALS: will be given by the institution.

• INSTITUTION: SPECIALIZED IN RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES (HOSPITALS AND SCHOOLS) located in Bogotá, 15 minutes from the School using public transportation.

• TARGET POPULATION: Hospital patients and  public schools students.

• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Spanish level: basic-intermediate.

• ABILITIES: Flexible attitude, adaptability, communication skills, team work.

• EXPERIENCE: Preferably in health institutions.

• MATERIALS: will be provided by the institution.

•    Twice a week the student will visit two different institutions in Bogotá.

6.    ARMY PHYSICAL REHABILITATION CENTER

• INSTITUTION: PHYSICAL REHABILITATION CENTER (ARMY), located in Bogotá. 30 minutes from the school using public transportation.

• TARGET POPULATION: Army members in physical rehabilitation.

• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Spanish level: basic-intermediate.

• ABILITIES: Flexible attitude, adaptability, communication skills, team work.

• EXPERIENCE: Preferably in health institutions.

• MATERIALS: will be given by the institution.

7.    ELDERLY CARE AND/OR ADMINISTRATIVE AND LOGISTICS ASSISTANCE.

• INSTITUTION: ELDERLY CENTER. Located in Bogota.  In walking distance (15 minutes) from the school.

• TARGET POPULATION: elder (70 + years old).

• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Spanish level: intermediate.

• ABILITIES: Flexible attitude, adaptability, communication skills, team work, lots of patience.

• EXPERIENCE: Preferably in health institutions.

• MATERIALS: will be provided by the institution.
